The best money-quality-location value. AAE S.F. European Hostel is really cheap – you will find no bed bugs but still don't expect much - a tiny kitchen, small rooms with a gloomy view, however it's close to subway, Muni Metro and trams. At night better stay at home or take a taxi after clubbing. They have safe boxes but you provide a lock - get it in a Dollar Store in Market Street. The fifth and the last floor have the best showers, are the most well lit and least crowded. The cleaning lady is a Russian in her forties and swears like a sailor if you walk on the wet floor.
