Marina Yurcheva
In the season two finale Betty clutched a bag from Schrafft’s. This was an iconic NYC chain, super popular with upscale ladies for some two decades starting from the 1950s. The menu mostly featured ice cream with toppings, candies and sandwiches. Some say it was one of the first places that allowed unescorted women ( at that time a decent lady should have been accompanied by a husband, dad or brother). Other rumors have it that the venue had no bar - meaning no drunk guys - so girls felt safe. The place had its own shops selling bags, branded fruit baskets and candy. The flagship was between the 5th and 13th.
