At the farmers market in Stoke Newington Londoners, who live nearby, once a week get a chance to buy fresh produce directly from the makers: independent farm owners, bakers, butchers and cheese makers, supporting British small businesses. I mostly go there to get seasonal herbs from Perry Court – sorrel, mangold, purslane, cabbage bok choy, and for the cheeses from The Bath Soft Cheese Company, which are no less quality wise than the famous french ones. Most of people either walk there, or take a bicycle, thus, minimizing harmful for the city car exhausts.
