Sometimes Istiklal neighborhood looks pretty decent – if you take a turn by Galatasaray lyceum to Yeni Çarşı and slowly walk down you'll enjoy the pretty Homer Kitabevi bookstore, crazy Lazy Boutique with colorful shoes, funky Antijen with bright bags and dresses and the jazz place Garajistanbul. But beware – if you take a left you'll get lost in the rag-and-bone kingdom of Cukurcuma, which is actually great.
