The restaurant actually takes the building of a debtors’ prison that has been here in the period of the mid 18th to the late 19th century, which explains its name (Häktet means “pretrial detention center”) and Spartan interiors. The menu is a fine mix of French and Swedish cuisines and as in most good restaurants it is not extensive but a very thought-out.
The place also has three bars – beer, wine and cocktails ones. The latter has drinks famous all over the town so it is the best place to begin the night when your taste buds are still operational.
