Nata Ramenskaya Pinto
A rare capital that can boast awesome surfing facilities. Check out seven beaches with the highest waves and the best folks.
Barceloneta
This city beach is where local surfers hang out waiting for a good wave to come. You can go surfing on most days in summer, but the best season is from late October till late March.
Bogatell
Bogatell Beach is located next to Barceloneta and is very much alike. Please note that local beaches are closed for surfers from August till mid-September.
Sitges
Sitges is thought to be one of the best beaches outside Barcelona. The waves here are rather small. Take a RENFE train and get off at Sitges station.
Montgat Beach
If you're into surfing, take a RENFE train and head to Montgat beach. You can get off at Montgat or Montgat Nord station. The beach is never crowded, so you can enjoy the waves. But beware of strong winds blowing in April and May.
Vilassar
Perfect place for experienced surfers. October to December is the season of huge waves, so you better stay away from this beach if you're a beginner. You can get here by train getting off at Vilassar De Mar station.
Masnou
Ready for giant waves and strong winds? Then take a train, get off at El Masnou station and enjoy the spirit of freedom! The only downside of this place is the number of people if the weather's good.
Garraf
Take a Rodalies R2 train at Franca station in Barcelona and get off at Garraf. This small beach is a nice surfing spot with good waves, if you're lucky, of course.
