The Picasso Museum is the most popular museum in the city. The permanent collection contains over 3,000 works covering the early years of the painter’s artistic life, including items his parents had been keeping in Barcelona before he moved to Paris in 1904. The paintings are exhibited chronologically. The gem of the collection is a series of 58 paintings on Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez. Besides, the museum features a substantial collection of ceramics and engravings.
