This is an Oriental bazaar the northern way. Recommend it only to those who want to get closer to simple people, mostly of Azeri origin (the predominant nationality of vendors). Here, in the very center of the city, you can find anything, from resistors to home slippers. Locals call it Aprashka and the market saw its best times in the mid 1990s, when there was no H&M or Zara. Overseas tourists also loved the place for cheap bling bling, fake Chinese watches and other stuff. Market folks on their part welcomed foreigners for their carelessness and expensive cell phones easily picked from their pockets.
