Shevaldyshev Courtyard

Moscow, Russia

Ksenia Kandalintseva

In 1779, this estate was owned by a lieutenant general Rhevzsky but in 1824 became a trading facility of merchant Shevaldyshev (the place became known as Shevaldyshev Courtyard). The comb-like ensemble (that's how such houses were nicknamed in old Moscow) with low basements was created in the 1870 as a trading space and a hotel. Hotel has been long gone and now the place hosts a business center, a small café called Prime and Krispy Kreme doughnuts
