The building designed by architect August Weber appeared here in 1873 and has remained practically unchanged till the 1930s, when the existing eclectic structure saw a two-story overbuild. Its famous residents were architect Shechtel, writer Paustovsky, actors Samarin and Medvedeva. In the 1880s, it was home to Children's Reading publishing house frequented by such prominent writers as Mamin-Sibiryak, Bunin, Chekhov, Teleshov, Zlatovratsky and Stanyukovich, Now it is taken by Modnaya Tochka discount and Daniel upscale kids boutique.
