Moscow, Russia

Ksenia Kandalintseva

This tenement house was built on the threshold of the 19th-20th century on the site owned by Count Alexei Orlov-Davydov, the Master of Ceremonies and MP of the Fourth-Convocation State Duma. The first floor was a trade zone – in 1907 it was splendidly embellished with fine mosaics by the French master Édouard-Jean Niermans who decorated the shop windows and vaults. Recently it was overbuilt and became a five-star hotel Nikolskaya Kempinski with Mosaik restaurant
