Tel Aviv winters are short and summer heat is fast to burst in, so everyone hastes to enjoy the short spring to the full – walk, sip refreshments on verandas, go to roof parties and open air concerts. Though you can do it all year long, only spring weather gives it a special flavor.

Rothschild, 12

This ancient building in the beginning of Rothschild Boulevard hosts a cafe, a bar, a bistro and a live music club. The food is good and cheap and all veranda tables taken, especially if it's nice outside. Every night they have live music concerts. Entrance is free, but reserve seats in advance. Concerts start after 11.30 pm and are frequented by mostly hipsters.

Docaviv Film Festival

This major festival of documentary films is held every spring. The competition features movies from different countries, including Israel and is a great chance to watch new good films, meet filmmakers and film lovers. The next fest will be running from May 7 to 16th in Tel Aviv Cinematheque. The program also includes free open-air showings in the Port of Tel Aviv.

Beer Garden

This popular bar is located in the very center, in Dizengoff Square and is as good as its Berlin branch: a great choice of beer, sausage and even pretzels. The place is usually packed, especially on the weekend, which guarantees lots of fun.

Dizengoff Square

This Bauhaus square built in the 1930s is a roundabout at the meeting of six streets and its every corner boasts a beautiful architectural monument. Its gem is a fountain created by artist Yaacov Agam – it has recently been renovated and is now the fire and water fountain – a technological mechanism is automatically activated at different times of the day and the night, injecting water upwards in various forms, spitting fire upwards and playing music. Twice a week, the square hosts a flea market with vintage clothes, antiques, pottery and jewelry. Bring your date here – there are lots of lovely bars around the fountain.

Yogo Cafe

A perfect alternative to ice cream, this fro-yo place offers lots of toppings – Haribo bears, marshmallows and chocolate so you can make your own dessert which is a great grab on a hot day. Get some and head to admire Tel Aviv's Bauhaus.

Night Kitchen

The place is great both at night and in the evening. The menu is the creation of the famous Tel Aviv chef Yoav Bliman so the food is super yummy. It is carried from the open kitchen right to the wide bar, so check the place before or after bar and club hopping.

The Container

Jaffa port has long become the artists’ attraction. During the day artists open the doors of their studios, musicians rehearse new songs and at night they all can be found in The Containers – a huge loft, bar and art space. So it's great food, music and art in one. They offer new menu practically every day, and don't forget about fresh fish – right from Jaffa fishermen’s nets. At night the place offers concerts, parties and art events.

Overstay hostel roof

This hostel welcomes young travelers, backpackers and those who prefer a good company to comfort. Here you'll meet one for sure – the roof regularly hosts BBQ parties and Friday night dinners. Affordable prices are a bonus.
