There are many different beaches in Tel Aviv – for surfers and those who look for calm sunbathing, the ones where they let you in with a dog and the ones where the locals play matkot (a popular game played with a rubber ball and a racket). Do not be surprised to see the beach covered with a wooden fence – for religious reasons, it is used my men and women separately on different days. Stop to take a look at the photos on the fence – they show how the city looked 50-60 years ago.
