A grey building of House of Terror with leaden-glassed windows is a museum located at a fashionable Andrássy út 60 in Budapest, serving as a grey reproach to the world's tyrants. The facade is covered with the pictures of tortured political prisoners during the nazi and communist regimes. You will see nothing entertaining here. The information is provided by means of installations, objects and double occupation chronicle. At first it was nazis, then communists.
In the cellar you will be shown torture chambers and individual cells. One of the screens shows a documentary about a former female prison warden meeting her ex-prisoners decades after. A hungarian film director Zoltán Fábri showed in his movie The Fifth Seal (1976) what was happening here during those years.
