Frank Hearts Berlin

When it comes to living the vegan lifestyle, Berlin has a lot to offer with it's eateries, bars, markets and more. Whether you're a visitor or a local, vegan or non-vegan, this city boasts an exciting array of vegan culture that's worth taking a day to explore. It's no wonder Berlin is crowned the #1 vegan-friendly city in the world - there is so much to eat, see and do, so why not make a day of it! We consulted vegan expert and blogger Sophia Hoffmann who just released her first cook book to create a vegan tour through Berlin for us. Enjoy!

Bistro Bardot

If you're visiting Berlin, enjoy a little bit of luxury at the Bistro Bardot and excite your senses with the delicious breakfast from the vegetarian organic kitchen of the Almodovar Hotel. Serving predominantly vegan food, Bistro Bardot spoils hotel guests and non residents with irresistible local seasonal ingredients and Mediterranean delicacies.

Loveco

This newly inaugurated Friedrichshain store initially began as a crowdfunding project by the lovely ethically and ecologically conscious duo Christina Will and Moritz Marker. After receiving copious amounts of support, their crowdfunding project ended having surpassed their goal, and now Loveco, an entirely vegan, fair-trade and eco-conscious store is open to all. The shop proudly features clothing and accessories sourced from small, independent labels that prove we shouldn't have to compromise design, aesthetics and quality when creating products from the fair treatment of humans, animals and our environment.

Original Unverpackt

Grocery shopping in Berlin is not the same anymore since the very first packaging-free shop 'Original Unverpackt' opened its doors in September 2014. Situated in the Kreuzberg district, Original Unverpackt is an innovative supermarket with an uplifting vibe which encourages precycling and offers everything in bulks. Say bye bye to plastic bags and shrink-wrapped veggies, just bring your own container and shop till you drop.

Let It Be

Got a craving for crepes? Vegan crepes have finally made their delicious debut in Berlin with the arrival of Let it Be in the Neukölln district. This informal cosy little restaurant offers a great choice of regional and seasonal vegan food, from salty and sweet crepes, to sandwiches, salads, cakes, burgers and gluten free options. Surprise your taste buds with the "Erykah Badu" crepe – all dishes are named after celebrities - or the "Omar Rodriguez-Lopez" burger!

Wochenmarkt am Südstern

Wondering where to go shopping for vegan food? Bringing you an amazing range of great products, the weekly market at Südstern is heaven to many vegetarians and vegans searching for the best quality ingredients. With fresh organic fruits, vegetables, and other edible treats from local artisans and food producers, this small market is perfect for anyone looking for a fun and tasty weekly destination.

Umasan

Umasan is Berlin's most popular vegan fashion label and surprisingly contemporary and fashionable at that. They started out with a focus on yoga wear but branched out to avant-garde streetwear with a preference for dark and drapey designs. They clothes are made from organic materials with no harmful chemicals or colors and produced under fair trade conditions. If you don't just want to eat vegan, but also dress vegan, this is a shop that you shouldn't miss. Umasan has two shops in Berlin, one in Mitte at Linienstraße and one on the top floor of the Bikini Concept Mall at Zoo.

COOKIES CREAM

Enjoy a delightful dining experience in the city with CookiesCream, a true vegan gem
located down a dark alley next to the Westin Grand. The charming restaurant serves
sophisticated high-end vegetarian and vegan delights, each with distinct flavours,
ingredients, and creative presentations. Get yourself started with delicious Austrian wine before tucking into a great dinner you won't easily forget.

Chaostheorie Berlin

Visit Berlin's first 100% vegan cafe & cocktail bar, Chaostheorie, and you will not be
disappointed. They offer a nice variety of drinks to choose from, which makes this little cafe a great place to chill before your night out begins. And of course there are vegan delights and healthy food with inventive flavours on the menu, so come hungry!
