FIER management is one of the most active fashion organizations in Berlin that supports upcoming avant-garde labels and young designers. For over 10 seasons they have organized fashion shows, exhibitions, showrooms, dinners, film festivals and parties to promote their designers. We have asked their fashion experts to curate a list of their favorite places of interest for the fashion-savvy Berlin explorer.
Type Hype
Type Hype is a new concept store specialized in typography related products. The innovative store design is inspired by an old printing press which was also integrated into the interior. The heart of the shop is a milk bar that offers amazing milk coffee and other types of dairy drinks as delicious snacks made with local products. It's a very inspiring surrounding and perfect to take a break on a shopping tour in Mitte.
Oukan
Oukan is a concept store dedicated to sophisticated avant-garde fashion with a special focus on Japanese design and upcoming labels. On two floors they offer an exquisite mix of fashion, accessories, design, interior and lifestyle products. Their selection of brands includes international labels such as Rad Hourani, Damir Domar Silent and Hussein Chalayan as well as local brands such as JULIAANDBEN, Butterfly Soulfire and Sopopular.
The restaurant Avan is attached to the concept store in the second floor and serves healthy Asian cuisine such as bento boxes and dumplings between 12-17h.
Kino Arsenal
Kino Arsenal is an alternative special program cinema located right in the middle of the commercial area at Potsdamer Platz. With over 1000 screenings a year, the cinema provides a program that brings together the historical and the contemporary, the academic and the popular, and the highbrow and the subcultural. You won't see any blockbusters here but an eclectic mix of intelligent cinema from all over the world. Arsenal is also one of the screening venues of several film festivals such as the Berlinale, Arab Shorts and the Berlin Fashion Film Festival.
Prince Charles
Prince Charles is one of the most renowned clubs in Berlin with an interesting program of hip hop and electronic music parties as well as other types of nightlife and cultural events such as concerts, dinners and fashion shows. The club is part of the Aufbauhaus which is a new building complex constructed by a publishing house that hosts all kinds of creative institutions and business, both small and big. The club has a nice outdoor area that perfect for the summer months, a really cool designed bar and the dancefloor has an amazing light installation that makes this place look really different than most party places.
