Parc Montsouris

Paris, France

Elisa Dudnikova

Park Montsouris is one of the most colorful parks in Paris, a southern replica of Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Its lawns are flooded by picnickers who also love to gather by cascades and a man-made lake. The park has its sad story, during its opening in 1978 the lake suddenly emptied for no reason and its engineer got so upset he committed a suicide. For some pine air and rest among the green go to the southern side and if you want adventures try to find and explore (if you are lucky) Petit Ceinture abandoned railway lines (it passes through the park, the same as through Buttes Chaumont). The park mainly attracts leisure seekers, students from the nearby campus, parents and babysitters with kids and joggers.
