Musée des Arts Décoratifs

Paris, France

Elisa Dudnikova

When in Paris, it's impossible not to have a look at Louvre. However, if you don't have time or stamina to go there, a good alternative would be Musée des Arts Décoratifs that occupies the whole wing of the Royal Palace. Set aside at least several hours to inspect its collection of objects created in France since the Middle Ages, and choose a comfortable pair of shoes to wear. Furniture, interior design items, fancy carpets, heaps of tableware, wallpaper, whole galleries of decorations and toys – such company can be more welcome than tourist crowds overfilling the halls of Louvre. Besides, there are marvellous temporary exhibitions, dedicated to Hussein Chalayan or Marc Jacobs, Star Wars toys or Dries van Noten.
