Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain

Paris, France

Elisa Dudnikova

Fondation Cartier is one of the top architectural achievements of Jean Nouvel, a glass palace which became one of the main centres of contemporary art in Europe. This glass building surrounded by a glass facade and evergreen plants stands among typical buildings of boulevard Raspail that look alike. This museum allows each of the artists that exhibit their works here to change the space to their liking while preserving the light and open feeling. The best thing is to exit the exhibition and find yourself in an unusual garden created by a landscape designer Lotar Baumgarten, whose family name by strange irony translates as "a tree garden". Here you can sit on the grass watching the sky and trees reflect in the glass facade, admiring the calm and quiet while being several meters away from the noisy boulevard, and then head on to the next location.
