Prague nightlife

Should the club Roxy not had appeared in Prague some time in 1990s, the club life of this city would set absolutely differently. All more or less significant European electronic musicians and DJs played in Roxy, and all more or less famous people marked on the map of club Prague spent their tempestuous youth in Roxy. During myy student years in Prague I spent all weekends in Roxy and still remember the bench in front of the club where people got acquainted with each other. Nowadays the club still holds worthy line-ups, despite the change of the generations, the owners’ approach for managing the club remains as stable as in 1990s; recently the club ran a conference on the problems and perspectives of the club Prague. Except for the club, in the same building there are experimental theatre, gallery and café. So you can visit Roxy not only at night time.

MeetFactory — is not a night club, rather a concert hall, where many club musicians perform. Hercules and Love Affair and Daedelus, indie electronic music and classic jazz – the concerts at MeetFactory are really various. Except for music, MeetFactory is involved in theatre and cinema life, they cooperate with cultural centres of other countries in Prague and organize many cultural events that are connected not only with music.

The club U Bukanýra really moors at the bank of the river Vltava: it is a motor ship with music bar and summer terrace. There are always many guests at U Bukanýra – the place is loved by locals and foreigners are quick to know about it. All types of house music are played here. Here you can meet such legendary Czech DJs as for example Pavel Bydlo, as well as some young talents; portal Techhouse.cz also holds its parties here.

Vanguard club in the historic center of Prague was founded in 1919. Inside of it there are four bars, three stages and a gallery. Despite the possible associations with its name, the club doesn’t have anything in common with frivolous entertaining places. Every day DJs perform here, the concerts and the parties Hipster Killer where I play electro music are held. The gallery, that is owned by the club, welcomes young artists: anybody can come with the offer to hold their vernissage and the managers of the gallery will for sure find a way to introduce the new talent.
