Doni Clemons
This trademark park in Rio gets its name from the immensely popular bossa nova song by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, Garota da Ipanema (Girl from Ipanema). The timeless hit earned a grammy in 1965 and remains widely well-known today. Situated across from Arpoador, the small park offers many pre, post or in-lieu-of beach activities. Some days there are free concerts and performances. Most days you will find children playing on the playground. Musicians propped on benches singing with guitars. Or people playing chess or checkers off to one side of the park. It also has a cool ramp to skate board with the beach as a backdrop.
